I make this recipe at least once a week. It’s my “oh-crap, I didn’t plan dinner” recipe. Tried and true. Nothing particularly special about the basic bread dough itself, it’s more the power of knowing how to use it. It’s quick to rise (just about 2 hours) and I have even rushed it to use within 1 hour in an emergency.
The style of pizza is like party pizza.
We have a few pizza joints around here called Nirchi’s and Pudgie’s and it’s almost exactly like what you get from them. My kids love it. It’s easy and very customizable to your tastes. The key is not slathering your sauce on too thick, or the bottom won’t crisp up the best.
The base recipe below makes one half sheet pan sized pizza. But we most often make a half sheet pan-sized pizza for the girls and then an additional quarter sheet of focaccia sandwich bread for use (to make seitan sandwiches) — that’s the largest measurement. I made this quarter sheet batch today as lunch for myself — that’s the smallest measurement.
